Parents,
🌞🏃♂️🎉We are excited about Field Day! Here are a few reminders to help the day run smoothly:
👕 Please make sure that your children wear clothing and shoes that are appropriate for the weather and vigorous, outdoor activity.
🌞 Please apply sunscreen and/or bug spray before they leave the house in the morning as teachers are not allowed to apply those products to students.
💧 We will have a water station where students may refresh themselves.
💧 We encourage you to start hydrating your child/children the day before. Remember, when the body signals thirst, that means one is already dehydrated so the best bet is to get ahead and hydrate the day before.
🥤 Students may bring water bottles, but it is their responsibility to keep up with them.
👟 Please remember that your child will be outside in the grass and dirt. They will get dirty and shoes will probably get wet and nasty because of the early morning dew. A change of clothes/shoes is encouraged.
Field day for grades 3 – 5 will be held on May 13th and grades PK – 2nd will take place on May 14th. Activities will start at approximately 9:30ish on both days and run until 11:45. The students will break for lunch and then return outside about 1:30 for afternoon activities. The afternoon activities usually take about an hour or so to complete. Upon completion, students will return to their classrooms and ready themselves for dismissal. Thank you for helping us make this a great event for our students.

Dear River Families,
I am so excited to begin serving as the principal of Crooked River Elementary School.
I have a unique connection to the River as I completed my student teaching here.
This school and culture hold a special place in my heart because of all the wonderful experiences I had all those years ago.
I am incredibly humbled to have received my first assistant principal role here three years ago.
I had my “pinch me” moment being able to do something I love while stepping back into the building where it all started.
Fast forward, I will now be taking on the role of principal here at Crooked River Elementary. I am deeply committed to maintaining the strong foundation that Dr. Lang has built here. I believe in creating an environment in which every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn. Building strong relationships is the cornerstone of why I chose to enter this field and I hope to continue this partnership with all of you.
In addition to this, I have lived in Camden most of my life. I love the community and am so thrilled and honored to be able to continue to serve our students, staff, and families.
As we approach the end of the school year, I look forward to partnering with you and the entire school community to make the rest of the year a success.
Warm regards,
Danielle Pocernik
Principal
Crooked River Elementary School
